what your profile covers

four things your profile tells you.

we keep the names for your result. you’ll meet yours when you finish.

your type

who you are

how you most naturally show up as a friend.

your season

where you are

not who you are. what you have to give right now.

your friend language

what lands

how you give care, and how you need to receive it.

your friendships

where you’re building

the shape of your friendships and the gap you actually feel.

and because every strength has a spill, you’ll see yours too, along with what the people who love you can do about it.

how it works

take it. sit with it. send it.

step 1

take kindred

28 questions, about 8 to 10 minutes. answer how you actually show up, not how you wish you did.

step 2

sit with your profile

does it feel accurate? what would you add or adjust? your profile is where the conversation starts, not where it ends.

step 3

send it to one kindred

pick the friend who deserves to be seen this way too. send them the assessment, not your guess at their result. let them tell you who they are.

the research

more than a personality quiz.

kindred comes from interviews with real people about what it feels like to be known, and it’s grounded in what friendship researchers have found. and we’re still building, leaning about friendship, telling stories. join us.

jeffrey hall

closeness takes intentional time. roughly 50 hours to become a casual friend, 200 or more to become a close one.

research participant

“like having a program. we’ve built our own language. you know what to do without being told.”

quality over quantity

the quality of your closest friendship predicts well-being. how many friends you have doesn’t.

who made this

Hi, I’m Grace Elizabeth.

I love my friends! I’m the friend who will 92% of the time say yes to an invite, trip or hang and I will do the most to show up for my people. I’m also the friend who gets the call before the hard conversation. Part of that is love. Part of it is that I’ve always been drawn to puzzles, and people are the best puzzle there is.

I’ve lived in five cities and traveled to nearly 30 countries, and everywhere I go I notice the same thing: we have so many words for the people we love. The play cousin, the ride or die, the friend who’s basically family. What we don’t have is language for what each of us brings to friendship, what we actually need and how that changes from one season of life to the next.

So I started asking. Conversation by conversation, people told me what it feels like to be truly known by a friend, and Kindred grew out of their answers.

I still read every profile before it goes out, because the details are the whole point. Take Kindred, sit with what it says about your friendship language, then send it to someone you love. That’s where the good conversations start.

FriendLove is the home for all of it: the assessment, the Gallery and Let’s Get Into It, our conversation series.
